Carrollton Monkey King Closed

monkey kingby Steven Doyle

I must be the angel of death today announcing closures, and there are more coming. This morning we learned of the Carrollton outpost of Monkey King shuttering. For fans of this location looking for delicious hand pulled noodle soup or their juicy xiaolongbao the Deep Ellum location is still moving strong.

Downtown Carrollton may have hit its saturation point of restaurants, or perhaps Babe’s Chicken is all our friends in Carrollton are looking for.

Here is their notice:

It’s with great sadness that we inform everyone that Monkey King Carrollton is closed. We love and appreciate all of our wonderful customers who came and enjoyed our food while we were here. As much as we wanted this location to work for us, market forces just were not on our side.
Our Deep Ellum and Legacy Food Hall locations are still open and ready to satisfy your noodle and dumpling needs.
Thank you all so much for your support during our time in Carrollton. We look forward to continuing our Monkey King mission of making the best Chinese street food in Texas.

…or maybe it was just second rate noodles and dumplings when competing against other Chinese noodle/dumpling restaurants…Deep Ellum and Legacy Food Hall locations have no other Chinese restaurant competition offerings.
