For its U.S. debut, San Martin Artisan Bakery & Restaurant has opened up shop in uptown Dallas. Located in an old gallery, San Martin’s Dallas outpost boasts over 7,800 square feet and a menu of authentic Guatemalan sandwiches, soups and pastries.
Everything on San Martin’s menu is made from scratch, with dressings, sauces and soups all made in-house. Apart from their full-service restaurant, San Martin also has retail bakery, where guests can purchase pastries, bread, coffee and tea to carry out.
The Tostadas are a great appetizer with which to dive into the world of Guatemalan cuisine. Served as a plate of 12, the Tostadas come topped with salsa, black beans and guacamole. Each of the tostadas are topped with queso seco, parsley and scallions.
Entrees worth trying include the Cobanera Diavola Pasta, a penne pasta slathered in San Martin’s signature Cobanero spicy sauce, served with chicken breast, shrimp, and mushrooms and topped with grated parmesan cheese.
One would be remiss if they went to San Martin and left without taking home some Guatemalan pastries. The Dulce de Leche and Strawberry Puff is sure to be a hit at parties and other events.
San Martin Artisan Bakery & Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the bakery operating from the restaurant’s opening and closing times.
