The Dallas Mavericks are kicking off the school year by encouraging active and healthy lifestyles in the Dallas Independent School District. This fall, the Mavericks are donating a Mavs FIT Kit to every middle and high schooler in Dallas ISD (approximately 85,000 students), a donation valuing $350,000.

Each kit includes a drawstring backpack, Mavs headphones and Mavs FIT Healthy Choice Challenge Guide. In addition, each of the Dallas ISD middle and high schools will receive a gymnasium set of Mavs basketballs, basketball bag, gym floor mats and a Mavs banner. These donations were made after receiving recommendations from middle and high school teachers and coaches in the Dallas ISD schools.

To announce and celebrate the donation, the Dallas Mavericks will host a back to school pep rally for students at Dade Middle School, emceed by Mavs’ own Chris Arnold and presented by Jefferson Dental Care. Special guests will include Dallas ISD Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa and Dallas Mavericks JJ BareaJustin Jackson and CEO Cynt Marshall. Mavs Man and the Mavs ManiAACs will also be in attendance to celebrate the new gear and the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
