On this Veteran’s Day, we honor and thank those who serve and who have served to protect our country. Each year, the Dallas Mavericks basketball team honors soldiers and military veterans by inviting them to sit courtside during a Mavericks game. This past Wednesday marked the 15th annual Seats for Soldiers Mavericks game.

Early Wednesday morning, the Dallas Mavericks Maniacs, a male dance troupe supporting the Mavs, boarded a charter plane to San Antonio International Airport, along with several Dallas Mavericks staff members. As the plane arrived to San Antonio, the Maniacs and the Mavs Staff greeted soldiers who were waiting at the gate. They fed the soldiers light bites and helped them board a charter plane to DFW airport.

Upon arrival to DFW, the soldiers were greeted and honored in a mini ceremony. They then boarded buses and made their way over to Nick and Sam’s for a pre-game dinner. Mavericks player Jason Terry and Mavs alumnus Michael Finley made appearances and delivered speeches.

After dinner, the soldiers boarded the buses again, on the way to the main event of the night–the Mavericks vs Orlando Magic game. The Mavs defeated the Magic 107 – 106. Following the game, the soldiers were given an exclusive meet and greet session with the Mavs.

The soldiers then took the buses back to the airport, where they got on the charter plane for one more flight to San Antonio
