Since 1992, the Tillman’s name has been a part of the Bishop Arts neighborhood, welcoming thousands of guests to enjoy its elevated take on comfort food classics. However, Tillman’s Bishop Arts will be closing its Oak Cliff doors at 2 a.m. New Year’s Day.
Owner Jeffrey Kollinger did not lightly approach the decision to shutter the location. “We have worked with our landlord, Jim Lake Companies, and after much discussion, we’ve decided not to continue our lease here in Bishop Arts,” explained Kollinger. “We have been so honored to serve Bishop Arts diners, and are looking forward to sharing Tillman’s again in 2020.”
The restaurant will remain open for its normal business hours through December 31, when it will host a special prix fixe menu for New Year’s Eve (details below). Additionally, the restaurant wants to offer a gift to guests making their final visits to the venerable restaurant. Between December 24 and December 31, Tillman’s will offer a free order of their popular S’Mores to each table dining in the restaurant (limit one per table).
Kollinger is glad to give back to the restaurant’s many fans.
“When we acquired Tillman’s in 2016, it was because we loved the brand as much as the guests,” expressed Kollinger. “It is important to me that we thank those people who love Tillman’s and give them something special when they join us during the last week at this location.”
Tillman’s New Year’s Eve dinner will actually be available beginning on Friday, December 27. The menu is available for $48 per person. On Dec. 27-28, both the prix fixe menu and regular a la carte menu will be available. On the 29th and 31st, only the prix fixe menu will be served. The menu follows below.

Si sorry to see them go, we’ve been going there since there was nothing good in Oak Cliff, to find something good you had to go across that river, and when Tillman’s camp along you didn’t have to do that anymore, back in the day Rick had the best spaghetti 🍝 with sun dried tomatoes, too bad they are closing
They are about to sign a new lease, we will update when we have that info.
I enjoy the restaurant, too. Just dined there for brunch last week!
