The James Beard Semi-Finalists have been announced this year, and Dallas has a good amount of nominees that are genuinely deserving and exciting. If you study the list, all of Texas is well represented. Let’s look at our chefs

Look to Salaryman as Best New Restaurant, Clyde Greenhouse at Kessler Baking Studo as Outstanding Baker, and the good people at Las Almas Rotas for their Outstanding Bar Program.

Maggie Huff has been nominated as Pastry Chef at Homewood, which makes us particularly happy. She has done amazing and innovative work for years. In the same category we find Ricardo “Ricchi” Sanchez at Bullion, which pleases us.

Misti Norris is nominated as Best Chef Texas, and of course she is at Petra and the Beast. Same category find Regino Rojas, Revolver Taco Lounge, Teiichi Sakurai, Tei-An, and Donny Sirisavath, Khao Noodle Shop. Also find Molly McCook, Ellerbe Fine Foods in Fort Worth. The state of Texas is a category by itself and filled with amazing chefs, so this will be an interesting win.

Kim McPherson from McPherson Cellars is nominated for Best Beer or Wine Producer. Amazing product.

Naturally, if you have not hit any of these places yet, it isĀ  highly encouraged. Things should heat up more at these locations with the added press.

Of course, as previously written, Las Almas Rotas will be joining Tacodeli at the James Beard House in April.
