Empty Bowls, Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB)’s signature fundraising event, returns for its 18th consecutive year on Tuesday, March 17. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth. VIP ticket holders will receive early entry at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are now on sale on TAFB’s event page.

With each ticket purchase, guests can select their own “studio bowl” handcrafted by local artists. In addition to the bowl included with admission, art lovers can purchase handcrafted “gallery bowls” by well-known local artists and “Art from the Heart” bowls made by local school children, companies and faith-based groups.

Throughout the day, guests will sample soups, desserts and other small bites from local restaurants and chefs. New restaurants include The Meat Board, Local Foods Kitchen, Texas de Brazil and several others. Many Fort Worth favorites are also returning. Every guest who purchases an Empty Bowls ticket makes a difference. Each general admission ticket purchase provides more than 300 meals, expanding the reach of Empty Bowls into all 13 counties that TAFB serves. “Empty Bowls is a fun, artistic event with a wide array of delicious food, and it is the compassion and generosity of our community that makes Empty Bowls not only a one-of-a-kind event, but also a heartfelt Fort Worth tradition,” said Julie Butner, president and chief executive officer of TAFB.

This year’s event will feature a refreshed layout of the event space, accentuating the restaurants and making them more accessible. Guests will also be able to watch live art demonstrations, bid in a silent auction with several unique items, and enter a raffle with a brand new prize of 50,000 American Airlines miles.
