After facing a temporary halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Perry’s Steakhouse has opened its new location right outside of Klyde Warren Park. Known for their pork chops, steaks and fine selection of wines, the new Perry’s is bigger and better than ever.

Perry’s new location is two stories high and encased in glass windows and ceilings, allowing guests scenic views of downtown. In the bar and lounge area, guests can enjoy fine wines and signature cocktails. A good choice is Perry’s 2017 Reserve Chardonnay, which contains notes of apples, pineapple and mango. This wine pairs very well with Perry’s non-meat items, including the vegan green tartare, which consists of zucchini, asparagus and cucumber, as well as the fried asparagus. Another good cocktail is The Godfather Returns, Perry’s touch on the classic Godfather cocktail, containing Monkey Shoulder scotch, Disaronno amaretto and black walnut bitters.

On the second floor is the main dining room, in which guests become one with the Dallas skyline. The views up there are impeccable. As for the food, a good choice is the signature Chateaubriand, which allows guests to sample Chateaubriand, with truffle Merlot demiglace, Bearnaise and peppercorn reduction sauces. A lighter option is the everything crusted ahi tuna, which, as its name suggests, is crusted with toasted poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic and onion flakes, in the fashion of an everything bagel. Both of these pair well with Perry’s 2017 Reserver Pinot Noir.

COVID-19 has posed a challenge for the restaurant industry, but Perry’s appears to be going strong. Tables are spaced apart far enough to maintain an appropriate social distance. Plus, Perry’s is offering takeout and delivery. Once this pandemic is over, Perry’s will certainly be a spot for celebration.
