Chef Amanda Freitag to Open Rise & Thyme in the AT&T Discovery District

Chef Amanda Freitag and Hospitality Alliance are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of Rise & Thyme, a seasonal American café. The restaurant, located at 211 S. Akard Street will officially open to the public on Friday, September 18. This will be the second restaurant to open in the new AT&T Discovery District, and will be open for breakfast and lunch with dinner coming later, offering guests a wide variety of options from salads to sandwiches, pastas to patty melts – from the acclaimed chef and her team.

“Clearly the world has changed in the months since we first started working on this restaurant, but one thing that hasn’t changed is how excited I am to be able to open Rise & Thyme in Dallas,” said Freitag. “This city has given me so many delicious food memories, and I am thrilled to be able to be a part of this unique culinary scene”

Freitag will offer her guests dishes like Taco “Thyme” – scramble farm eggs, muenster, bacon, Thyme potatoes, griddled onion on a flour tortilla; Smoked Salmon & “Everything” Toast – cream cheese, pickled red onion, capers, cucumber, tomato, dill, “everything” spice on sourdough or seeded whole-wheat; AF Chicken Salad – thyme and lemon roasted chicken breast, tarragon, house mayo, lemon, pickled celery and red onion served on a bed of bibb lettuce, tomato and cucumber; Impossibly Perfect Patty Melt with an Impossible patty, secret sauce, muenster and pickle on sourdough bread; Roasted Chicken French Dip – crispy shredded leg and thigh meat, provolone, caramelized onion, horseradish mayo, arugula on a baguette served with a side of roasted chicken jus; and  Salmon a la Plancha – 6-ounce skin-on Scottish salmon filet, Thyme potatoes, tartar sauce. Rise & Thyme will also offer a selection of fresh pastries from local favorites La Casita Bakeshop and bread from Village Baking Co.

“I can’t even begin to say how happy we are to finally be able to open this restaurant with Amanda,” said Kevin Lillis, CEO and Founder of Hospitality Alliance. “I’ve been a fan and friend of hers for years, and while this opening may be a little later than we originally planned, we definitely believe it was worth the wait. We’re looking forward to bringing something truly special to Downtown Dallas and the Discovery District.”

Located on the corner of Commerce and Akard, Rise & Thyme was designed by The Johnson Studios with both sleek and rustic features and floor to ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light.  Rise & Thyme will be open for takeout, delivery, limited indoor seating and a full range of outdoor seating in the Discovery District.

Rise & Thyme is committed to being a haven for people to dine safely and securely. The restaurant team will be following and expanding upon all CDC-mandated safety measures during these unprecedented times, and that includes mask-wearing, social distancing when ordering, enhanced sanitization protocols, and temperature monitoring of staff. For a full scope of what Rise & Thyme is doing, please visit www.risenthyme.com.

Hospitality Alliance, AT&T, and Rise & Thyme recognize and embrace the popular refrain that “we’re all in this together,” and believe that as part of the Downtown Dallas community, there’s a responsibility to give back.  Over the course of the past several months, Hospitality Alliance has been providing meals to frontline and industry workers out of the JAXON Beer Garden kitchen. That practice will continue at Rise & Thyme, with proceeds from Monday sales being donated to World Central Kitchen, whose ongoing mission provides meals to those in need.
