It’s time to uncork and unwind at Michele DeWitt’s inaugural “It’s The Wine Talking” wine pairing lunch at Bingham House.
On Wednesday, Sept. 23 from noon to 2 p.m., wine lovers are invited to enjoy a lively food and wine pairing lunch hosted by DeWitt, co-founder of Front Burner Restaurants and Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 advanced sommelier and wine enthusiast. During the engaging event, guests will enjoy music on Bingham House’s intimate outdoor space while exploring white wine varietals, their styles and pairings. Each wine will be paired with a delicious three-course meal prepared by Front Burner’s Vestals Catering. The courses include:
Appetizer
Watercress Salad with Texas Chevre, poached pear and candied pecans paired with a French Sancerre and a New Zealand sauvignon blanc.
Entrée
Pan-Seared Halibut with corn puree, fresh tomato, fennel salad and jalapeño paired with a California chardonnay.
Dessert
Fall Spice Cake with maple crème fraîche and ginger molasses cookies served family-style and paired with a German Gewürztraminer and a California Gewürztraminer.
“Wine has always been my passion and I’m thrilled to share this passion through my new educational series. “It’s the Wine Talking”, said DeWitt. “For the last few years I’ve traveled, been inspired and learned from the best winemakers in the world and I’m thankful to share my knowledge and build a community of enthusiastic wine lovers. Bingham House is the perfect setting for my first ‘It’s The Wine Talking’ event with its breezy porches and intimate space. We will explore different varietals while enjoying a quality prix fixe menu created by the team at Vestal’s Catering. I look forward to meeting other local wine enthusiasts while we explore how wine speaks to us.”
Bingham House will host this month’s wine pairing lunch for $65 per person. There are limited seats available. To make a reservation, visit EventBrite.com.
