Dallas’ Mockingbird Station Brings Community Together for Station Fair

Dallas’ shopping and dining destination Mockingbird Station keeps the Texas State Fair’s spirit alive with its own pop-up fair taking place on October 16–18 in the Mockingbird Station shopping center.

Since 1886, the Texas State Fair has brought the DFW community together. The Texas State Fair was initially canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic but has now turned into a limited drive-through fair. In the spirit of the fair’s long-standing tradition, Mockingbird Station is excited to host a three-day fair activation called, The Mockingbird Station Fair, which offers Dallasites a fun way to come together through carnival-inspired décor and games.

While there have been multiple state-fair activations popping up throughout the metroplex, Station Fair offers a twist on this classic Americana activity. The Station Fair will feature Instagrammable moments like the iconic Midway sign, huge colossal popcorn box with cotton candy, magical unicorn horse petting zoo, Ferris wheel, giant corn dog step and repeat, and of course, Big Tex. Carnival games such as the high-striker, soccer kick, giant Jenga, LED cornhole, double shot basketball, and much more will be available while following recommended CDC guidelines for social distancing.

Mockingbird Station and its tenants understand the hardships that Dallasites have faced throughout 2020, and in order to lift spirts and provide a safe and fun event, all admission and gaming fees are free of charge for all attendees to enjoy.

And, a fair-themed event isn’t complete without iconic fair food like corn dogs and funnel cakes.  Mockingbird Station is partnering with Corn Dog With No Name to make fair-themed foods, beers and other alcoholic beverages available for purchase at the Station Fair.

This family-friendly event will offer something for everyone. On Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, a unicorn will be available for photos from noon – 2:00 pm. Guests can sip on cocktails to-go while they enjoy one of the many attractions or stop in and shop at one of the Station’s many shops. To keep all attendees safe, Mockingbird Station will follow all CDC recommended guidelines. All games, vendors, and activations will be hosted outdoors to allow for social distancing. Guests are encouraged to remain 6 feet apart, wear masks, and utilize the hand sanitizing stations throughout the venue. Food and beverage vendors will wear masks and gloves. All purchases will be made via card and contactless when possible.
