Greatly Anticipated Monarch Opens March 10th

Monarch, the highly anticipated wood-fired, modern Italian restaurant led by two-time Michelin-starred Chef Danny Grant opens tomorrow, March 10. Located at the top of The National and alongside the new Thompson Dallas at 1401 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75202, reservations for Monarch can be made at monarchrestaurants.com.

Monarch welcomes guests to a spectacular setting on the 49th floor with soaring 360-degree views of the city. The main dining areas feature more than 280 seats, and the Monarch private dining spaces accommodate various size gatherings from 12-120 people for all types of celebrations.

“We are incredibly proud of the team we’ve assembled. They’ve worked hard through so many challenges to get the doors open,” said Chef Grant. “I’ve opened many restaurants across the country, but this one is the crown jewel. We can’t wait to welcome our first guests to Monarch and show Dallas how much we love being here.”

With an open-kitchen concept, Monarch will deliver a menu focused on light, modern Italian cuisine. The heart of the restaurant is the wood-fired hearth where guests can order Wood-Fired Meatballs served with tomato crudo, basil, buffalo milk mozzarella, and freshly made grilled focaccia. Handmade pasta will be served each night, including Whole Maine Lobster Spaghetti and Black Truffle Risotto served with wild mushrooms, Madeira, and robiola cheese.

The Butchers Reserve section is where guests can find a selection of grain and grass-fed steaks and chops slow-roasted over a wood fire and cooked with love and passion, including a Bone-In Filet Mignon and Wagyu Tomahawk. For those seeking a show-stopping, for-the-table experience, guests will be able to select a Whole Live Alaskan King Crab from Monarch’s saltwater tank and enjoy a handful of dishes including chilled black truffle and herb crab salad, fire-roasted crab legs glazed with Calabrian chili pepper jus, crab butter & sauce served alongside a traditional crab roll covered in herbs, savory crunchies, and chili oil.

Guests who enjoy fish will have a variety of options, including the Olive Oil Poached Alaskan Halibut served with confit tomatoes, white wine, olives, and basil. Also available nightly is the Salt-Crusted Whole Gulf Snapper stuffed with herbs and lemon and cooked in the wood-fired oven, served with capers, fennel, and espelette.

The Royale is one item unlike any other on the menu, this experience is for guests who want to try the best Monarch has to offer.  The Royale is a tasting menu that features a collection of favorites that inspired the creation of Monarch.
