While gathering facts for an upcoming pie essay we ran across something called the Pie Council. We wanted to find out who was behind such an organization, and it appears to be insane pie enthusiasts. What a wonderful career to have… pie enthusiast.
They seem to be backed by large corporations such as Crisco, the basis for any good pie in America today.
The Pie Council, so it seems, hosts pie bake offs, a large pie festival, a pie eating contest, crown a pie queen, and host seminars across the country. How did we miss out on this whole pie business?
To join the Pie Council you will need more than just a hunger for good pie. You will need a minimum of $40 annually for dues, $75 if you are a pie pro.
We just want to eat pie.
