Fish City Grill Set to Re-Open Preston-Royal Restaurant on Jan. 10

Fish City Grill took on severe damage when a tornado swept through the Preston-Royal area of Dallas in October 2019. Team members and customers were forced to take cover inside a walk-in cooler as the tornado shredded the restaurant’s walls and ceiling. The section of shopping center Fish City Grill sat in had to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch.

Construction is finally nearing completion, and Fish City Grill is getting ready to reopen the neighborhood’s favorite seafood destination.

“One of the things this terrible storm forced us to face was what we all mean to each other – our customers, our team members, our neighborhood,” said Bill Bayne, co-founder and CEO of Fish City Grill. “We’ve been part of the landscape in the Preston-Royal area since 2003 and we want to continue to be an important part of the neighborhood for decades going forward.”

While Fish City Grill has moved to a different space closer to Preston Road within the same strip, and its signage will be updated to match the chain’s current branding, it will be the same neighborhood seafood joint that regulars have loved and missed. Several favorite team members will be back. The restaurant will be larger, with additional tables to accommodate more diners and shrink wait times for tables. There will also be a small patio.

“We’re committed to coming back strong and serving our customers, hoping to be the same neighborhood favorite we’ve always been,” Bayne said. “We look forward to welcoming back our regular customers to this familiar space.”

The restaurant is anticipated to reopen Jan. 10. The new General Manager will be long-time Fish City Grill team member Cole Brizedine, who most recently managed the Lake Highlands location.
