Six Flags Over Texas Brings the Thrills for Spring Break

Six Flags Over Texas kicks off Spring Break this weekend and announces transformational improvements for the flagship park, including new dining, rides, experiences and infrastructure improvements for guests.

Operating daily, March 12-20, Texans will have a one-stop shop for all things thrills this season. New this year is the Extreme Flying Experience on Texas SkyScreamer. For a limited time, guests can trade in a traditional seat for a flight suit and soar “belly-down,” 400 feet in the air at 40 miles per hour!

Live entertainment will greet Spring Break goers in the park midways, as the Jeff Carlson Band kicks off their 2022 tour with live performances on the stage in GOTHAM CITY and the David and Rayln Acoustic Duo will take the stage outside the new Six Flags Icehouse.

Guests will get a first-hand look at the enhancements that are taking place throughout the park for the 2022 season, including:

  • Improvements for Parents – Guests that visit the park with kids under 48” will find additional resources to help make their visit more enjoyable, including a new Kids Security kiosk with complimentary height check ID wristbands, kid-friendly dining options at Granny’s Grill, additional shaded seating areas and more;

Guests can also try out a new menu in the USA section of the park that includes fine eats like a Classic Burned Ends Sandwich or Spit-Roasted Half Chicken.
  • Improved Guest Entry and Park Aesthetic – Park visitors will notice an improved entry experience at the front gate, with freshly painted buildings and an open midway to take in the sights and sounds around the historic Star Mall. Throughout the park and on two major coasters, Pandemonium and MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast, new paint provides a vibrant backdrop for guests; and
  • Single Rider Lines – To shorten wait times by filling in every available seat, single rider lines enable rides to operate with the maximum number of guests. This feature will be added to New Texas Giant, Runaway Mountain, BATMAN: The Ride, plus eleven other rides.

Later this season, the park will introduce two new ride experiences – Pirates of Speelunker Cave – a re-imaging of the park’s The Cave dark ride and AQUAMAN: Power Wave – a multi-launch water coaster.

Also new in 2022, Six Flags announces a three-tiered Pass Program focused on maximizing the value and experience for guests. The Thrill Seeker Pass is perfect for frequent home park visitation. The Extreme Pass is ideal for live-on-the-edge thrills all year, without blockout dates.
