After a two-year hiatus, the Forth Food & Wine Festival triumphantly returned last weekend, welcoming excited foodies to gorgeous weather, top chefs from near and far, delicious exotic dishes, stellar wines, craft beers and creative cocktails.
Five of the six events sold out and over 7,000 eaters and drinkers attended the weekend festivities. No event felt overly packed, which made for an easy going “Texas style” pace and short lines.
Make sure to mark your calendar for next year so as not to miss what is becoming one of the premier food and wine festivals in North Texas. Check out our highlights from the weekend below:
“Tacos and Tequila” tipped off the weekend on Thursday with inventive tacos from 18 chefs and 12 tequila vendors.
“The Main Event” on Friday was the festival’s signature event and had folks lining up to savor dishes from 27 of the best North Texas chefs and restaurateurs and paring them with more than 100 different wines, craft beers and spirits. Crowds danced to live music as the perfect sun was set.
“Nite Bites” ended Friday with a bang as attendees sipped proper Texas whiskey cocktails made by 14 mixologists while enjoying bites by 16 chefs. A local DJ kept the mood energetic during the street market style evening.
“Burgers, Brews + Blues” was the highlight of Saturday night, celebrating a trio of all-American classics: sliders, craft beer and blues. The rocking party went down along the Trinity River and featured chefs grilling up their best mini-burgers while local craft breweries poured their signature beers. Best burger went to the “Cowboy Candy Slider” by Kincaid’s Hamburger. Celebrity judge Eric Nelson from the TV series “1883” was one of five judges.
“Ring of Fire” capped off the event on Sunday afternoon, featuring over 20 BBQ pitmasters. All the classics, as well as exotic beef dishes, were accompanied by wine, beer and spirits, all set to the beat of a live band.
The excitement at every event was palpable as foodies, restaurants, and beverage providers returned to this celebration of the fantastic talent in the Fort Worth culinary community. We can’t wait for next year.
