Fox Restaurant Concepts, founded by James Beard-nominated restaurateur Sam Fox, announced it will open first-to-market Culinary Dropout in early 2024 at The International, a destination for high-end showrooms located in the heart of Dallas’ Design District, easily accessible from the Dallas North Tollway and I-35. Culinary Dropout will join sister restaurants in the city, Flower Child, The Henry, and North Italia.
With an undeniable rhythm that sweeps through every inch of the space, Culinary Dropout leaves a mark on each guest that walks through the doors. It’s a place that moves to the beat of its own drum and radiates a welcoming sensation that is irresistible. An eclectic mix of rockstar art serves as a backdrop with juxtaposing grand chandeliers that steal the show and rich leather booths made for sipping the night (or day) away. This place overwhelms you with a feeling you just can’t miss.
“Culinary Dropout is just a fun place to be. It’s perfect for families, date night, quick beers or after-work food and drinks,” Sam Fox, founder said. “I was inspired by the new growth and development of this area, it’s just a really cool place to be. This will be our very first location with a rooftop bar, and we can’t wait to add the energy of Culinary Dropout to the Dallas landscape.”
At Culinary Dropout, the atmosphere breeds show-stopping food, phenomenal cocktails, and genuine hospitality. Every. Single. Time. From vibing to live music from local bands on stage, to cheering on the Dallas Cowboys with ice-cold beers in hand on the rooftop, to a date night with craft cocktails – there’s something fun for everyone.
Here, a refined yet edgy mix of dishes inspires any taste bud to live a little. Dishes like 36-Hour Slow Roasted Pork Ribs basted in jalapeño BBQ sauce, and juicy hot wings drenched in a tangy yet perfectly sweet buffalo sauce, remain true to classic comfort food roots but are a bit restyled to be unforgettable. It’d be a crime not to mention the house made Soft Pretzels with soul-warming Provolone Cheese Fondue – trust us, just try it.
A visit to Culinary Dropout wouldn’t be complete without a few rounds of fun cocktails. Our bartenders work their magic with house made syrups, infused liquor, fresh-squeezed juices, and some extra love. Sip on the El Matador made with añejo tequila, elderflower liqueur, ginger agave, and a dash of orange bitters while you consider what your next round will be. Might we recommend the infamous Room Service, shaken and served up with American gin, zesty lemon, sweet strawberry and topped with crisp, bubbly wine. The cocktails alone are worth coming back for again (and again). To check out more of the vibe, follow them on Instagram at @culinarydropout.
“The acquisition strategy for The International was centered around attracting a world class food and beverage operator. From the project’s inception, Culinary Dropout was the ideal fit for this space. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Sam Fox and his team,” said Chad Cook, Founder of QIP.
Fox, a recipient of the Hot Concept awards by Nation’s Restaurant News in addition to being a James Beard nominee and a well-known influential trend spotter, founded Fox Restaurant Concepts in 1998 in Tucson, Ariz. Fox Restaurant Concepts has since introduced over a dozen ever-evolving restaurant brands and has over 5,000 team members in over 60 locations across the U.S.
