Countdown to Frisco H-E-B

The new H-E-B Frisco store is located at 4800 Main Street in Frisco and will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and opens tomorrow, September 20, 2022.

San Antonio-based grocery store H-E-B is ready to make its Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex debut on Wednesday when its new store opens in Frisco.

The 118,000-square-foot store on Main Street will open at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. The people in charge of H-E-B says a move to North Texas has something that has long been in the works.

H-E-B already has stores located in Ennis and Waxahachie.

If there is any question about how excited people are for the new grocery store, Frisco police posted a suggested traffic route for opening. Even still, they are predicting backups telling people to bring their patience.

HEB is famous for its private-label foods. They make just a ridiculous number of products for their stores, ranging from the obvious—flour, peanut butter—to the, um, less obvious. Things like pumpkin creme and sangria flavored sodas, apple-celery juice, Texas-shaped tortilla chips, white bread with the crusts cut off, and That Green Sauce.

The best and worst thing about HEB is that every single one is different. The company prides itself on customizing each location to the neighborhood: in Austin there are HEB locations in college neighborhoods (heavy on the cheap beer and frozen pizzas), up-and-coming neighborhoods full of families with young kids (organic produce and craft beer), neighborhoods populated largely by one culture (Mexican cookies and an aisle full of Goya products) or another (fish sauce and rice noodles).

“As a Texas company, we are excited to be your new neighbors here in Frisco and share outstanding local products with superior customer service. For more than 117 years, we have served communities across Texas and Mexico and look forward to bringing you the best H‑E‑B has to offer. We are committed to ensuring our store is a meaningful addition to Frisco and the surrounding communities,” Eli Daniels, store manager tells us.
