Genaro Silva’s namesake restaurant Genaro’s closed yesterday. The restaurateur delivered pretty terrific food dating back to the 1980’s with such restaurants as Genaro’s Tropical, Moctezuma’s and Garmo’s . On our adventure to fined excellent seafood in Dallas during this time of Lent, we found a restaurant that is steeped up in seafood. Although not a traditional seafood restaurant, Genaro’s opened for business in November of 2013 and serves up a healthy amount of seafood with traditional Yucatan and Tex Mex-style offerings. The restaurant is owned and operated by Chef Genaro Silva. You may know Silva from such restaurants as Genaro’s Tropical, Moctezuma’s, Garmo’s which he operated as far back as the 1980’s. They also had the bent towards fresh seafood.

Long time Dallas restaurateur will be opening another concept late August or early September of 2013.
