ANN at WaterTower Theatre February 14-25

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Shane Peterman and Associate  Producer Elizabeth Kensek are proud to announce casting and creative details for the one person play  ANN starring Morgana Shaw as the incomparable Ann Richards, the legendary late Governor of Texas. Written and originally performed by Emmy Award winner Holland Taylor, ANN takes a revealing look  at the impassioned woman who enriched the lives of her followers, friends, and family. WaterTower  will be presenting a newly updated version of the script, last premiered by Ms. Taylor in 2022. This is  the second production of WaterTower’s 28th Season.

“Golden Boy” Limited Engagement

WaterTower Theatre announced on Friday, August 23 that it will round out its 2019-2020 season with a special limited-engagement, concert-style production of the inspiring 1960s musical Golden Boy. Adapted from the 1930s drama by Clifford Odets, and featuring a book by Odets and William Gibson, Golden Boy tells the story of Joe Wellington, a young black man trying to rise from the Harlem ghetto as a prizefighter. Wellington, originated on Broadway in 1964 by the iconic Sammy Davis, Jr., is enticed by the boxing world’s promise of fame and fortune, but he makes one critical mistake: falling for his manager’s white girlfriend, Lorna. Hit the Wall at WaterTower Theatre July 28th – Aug 20th

WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Hit the Wall by multi-award-winning playwright Ike Holter. Hit the Wall will be directed by Joanie Schultz, and marks her WTT directorial inauguration. Hit the Wall will run July 28th – August 20th, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast features Kelsey Leigh Ervi as Peg, Joshua Gonzales as Tano, Walter Lee as Carson, Gregory Lush as Cop, Camille Monae as Roberta, Stephen Rosenberger as Newbie, Rashaun Sibley as Mika, Garret Storms as Cliff, Jacie Hood Wenzel as Madeline, and Brandon Whitlock as A-Gay.   Continue reading
