A Christmas in Dallas is not complete without seeing the Dallas Theater Center’s A Christmas Carol at the Kalita Humphreys Theater on Turtle Creek. We really do not get snow, and no one is about to roast a chestnut in the streets, so we grab our traditions where we can. Win Tickets To Second City Does Dallas

Yesterday we announced tickets were on sale for Second City Does Dallas, a production of the Dallas Theater Center that will be featured at the Wyly in the Arts District in downtown Dallas. Now is your chance for a few free tickets to see the show. We will be able to offer one of several dates, but all you need to do is make a comment below. One random commenter will be the lucky winner which we will select Monday, August 27, 2012.

The Second City troupe was born just over 50 years ago in Chicago at a time when mother-in-law jokes were more the fashion, The Second City railed against the conformist culture with scenes that spoke to a younger generation. Alumni of the group includes Alan Arkin, Barbara Harris, Robert Klein, David Steinberg and Fred Willard, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner, Martin Short, Andrea Martin, Catherine O’Hara, John Candy, Eugene Levy, Dave Thomas, Joe Flaherty and Rick Moranis.           Continue reading

DTC’s Dreamcoat Extended To Aug 12

Dallas Theater Center’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat is starting to get a reputation for not being a “typical” version of the musical and now you have even more time to check it out before the show closes as it has been extended to August 12, 2012.

Name Your Price For Tickets To Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Dallas Theater Center is proud to present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre.

This Friday, June 22 is the Pay-What-You-Can performance of Joseph.  Tickets can be purchased at the DTC website online now.  Additional tickets will be released for online purchase later this week and 100 tickets will be available for walk up purchase at the box office this Friday.      Continue reading
