KNON 14th Annual Mardi Gras Gumbo Party March 15th

Release your inner Cajun this weekend at Poor David’s Pub located on Lamar in Dallas Sunday, February 15th were KNON will host an evening of  fun New Orleans style. Look for one hell of a gumbo competition with some pretty terrific chefs turning out their best. There will be plenty of live music, as you would expect with a KNON event.  Mark your calendar, the fun starts at 5pm.

Scenes From KNON Gumbo Competition

You know it is time to celebrate Mardi Gras when the Kings of Gumbo show up with their finest as they did last Sunday at Poor David’s Pub for the 13th Annual KNON Gumbo Competition. Sunday was the beginning of the cold snap, but a celebrated crowd of folks showed up, spoon in hand, for a taste of New Orleans.

The event was coordinated by David Pippin who has a pulse on the chefs in Dallas. You might recognize him as the chief behind the State Fair’s chef demonstrations.    Continue reading

Celebrate Fat Tuesday With King Cake Vodka

2013 Mardi Gras In Oak Cliff

I am still suffering from the Oak Cliff Mardi Gras celebration yesterday, and especially thrilled by the ginormous parade as it tooled its way down Davis aiming eastward towards Bishop Arts. The sidewalks were brimming with cheering hoards as they were on the receiving end of beads, baubles and tiny treats.   Continue reading
