Norma’s Celebrates 62 Years

Norma’s Cafe, a Dallas dining icon, will celebrate its 62nd “birthday” at all five locations with several promotions throughout June. Each cafe will offer 3 menu favorites for the throwback price of $1.79 on June 25th in addition to a partnership with local non-profit, The Birthday Party Project (TBPP), a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the magic of birthdays by partnering with homeless and transitional shelters in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to throw birthday celebrations for children living in the shelters.

On June 20th, a portion of sales from all five locations will be donated directly to TBPP. Guests can find more information about the fundraising day here. Can’t make it to fundraising day? Norma’s has yellow donation piggy banks at each location and will be collecting donations throughout the entire month of June. Norma’s is also selling a limited edition Birthday Shirt with all proceeds being donated to TBPP. Continue reading

Norma’s Celebrating National Pie Day Jan 23rd With Free Pie

For its ninth year in a row, Norma’s Cafe, the original Dallas dining icon, will celebrate National Pie Day by offering guests a free slice of its famous Mile-High Pie on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at all five locations.

“At Norma’s Cafe, we believe that every meal should end on a sweet note and we’re excited to make it easy for our guests to indulge on National Pie Day,” said Ed Murph, owner of Norma’s Cafe. “Last year we served approximately 4,200 slices of pie to guests across all of our locations and we’re happy to continue this tradition for the ninth year in a row.’”  Continue reading

Norma’s Cafe 29th Annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner Offer

For its annual holiday tradition, Norma’s Cafe, the original Dallas dining icon serving Texas home cooking for more than 60 years, will open its doors on Thursday, Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for its 29th Free Thanksgiving Dinner. The free meal will be available only at Norma’s Cafe’s original Oak Cliff location on 1123 W. Davis Street in Dallas.

“Our team cannot imagine Thanksgiving Day without sharing it with our community and being a part of a larger movement to spread holiday joy to those in need,” said Ed Murph, owner of Norma’s Cafe. “For the past 29 years, we’ve opened our cafe and provided a home-cooked meal to those who need it, but it would not be possible without our partners and volunteers who share our passion of helping others.” Continue reading

Celebrate Norma’s Cafe 61st Anniversary

Norma’s Cafe is celebrating its 61st anniversary tomorrow morning, which means rollback prices for a few of the staple southern dishes.

Norma’s opened during 1956 in Oak Cliff on Highway 80, offering high pie, from scratch homey dishes such as chicken fried steak and meatloaf, and plenty of mash potatoes and veggies. These are the things of an era gone by that are still craved by hungry patrons to the restaurant.
