Andrew’s American Pizza Kitchen to Open in Plano on Saturday, December 10

Andrew’s American Pizza Kitchen, the local DFW family-owned American-style pizza and pasta concept in Plano is set to open to the public Saturday, December 10 at 1401 Preston Rd, Plano, TX 75093. The restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

The new concept comes from former owners of the beloved Picasso’s Pizza & Grill, Andrew and Jennifer Albert along with their son who is also co-owner, Justin Andrew Albert.

Report: 18th Annual International Food and Wine Festival

Pictures say it best. The Epicurean World Master Chef’s Society (they must have wide  membership cards) held their modestly titled 18th Annual International Food & Wine Festival last week at the Ice House in Plano. The name of the location has a touch of irony as the combination of the 90+ outside temperatures and the massive crowd combined to overwhelm the puny two AA cell powered air conditioning, resulting in an event that was ‘hot’ in the literal sense.     Continue reading

First Look: Taverna Rossa

Picture this – you’re a Plano resident that enjoys the terrific school district, Willowbend Mall and pretending that the Dallas North Tollway is somehow less traffic-y than I75 or 635. Yep, you live in the suburbs. When people want to go out to eat you immediately think of Shops at Legacy. While the Shops is lovely, though no less congested than Uptown on a Saturday night, and Jasper’s is delicious, you want a cool, neighborhood gem that’s enjoyable for your whole family. Well, good things came to those who waited. Taverna Rossa is now open off Preston Road between Parker and Spring Creek Parkway.     Continue reading
