For 53 years, the little pitched-roof cottage on Asbury Street across from SMU meant one thing. New York Sub. First dates, post-game sandwiches, late-night study breaks, parents in town for the weekend. When the shop announced early this year that it was losing its home, a lot of people who haven’t been students in decades took it personally.
This Friday, Nov. 6, the lights come back on. Rollin’ Joe’s opens at 3411 Asbury St., with a public preview the day before, Thursday, Nov. 5, from 3 to 7 p.m.
