Your Complete Guide to a Wimberley and San Marcos Getaway

The Blanco River runs low and green past Wimberley Square on a Friday afternoon, cypress roots gripping the bank like they’ve been holding on since before the town had a name. Ninety minutes south of Austin, an hour past the last billboard for anything, the Texas Hill Country stops performing for tourists and just starts being itself. Wimberley and San Marcos sit close enough together to share a weekend without either one feeling like an afterthought, one built for slowing down, the other for cooling off. Float Fest 2018 Musical Line-Up and San Marcos Clean Up Effort

Float Fest partners with local businesses such as Don’s Fish CampTexas State Tubes, and The Eyes of the San Marcos River for efforts to keep the river clean for its fifth annual music festival on July 21-22. The festival and partners will work together to encourage ways for guests to float responsibly, assist with trash pick up, as well as do a deep river clean up. Continue reading
