
Dallas is getting a Spanish restaurant built around the idea of a countryside home rather than a dining room. Masía, opening at 2530 Fairmount Street sometime this winter, comes from Arrels Hospitality Concepts, the Houston group behind BCN Taste & Tradition, which earned a Michelin star, and MAD, the Madrid-leaning restaurant in River Oaks District.
This will be the group’s first Dallas location, and the name itself explains the intent: a masía is a Catalan farmhouse, historically the center of rural life in Catalonia, where families cooked with whatever the land gave them and set a table wide enough for anyone who showed up.
