Nachos originated in the city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, just over the border from Eagle Pass, Texas. In 1943, the wives of U.S. soldiers stationed at Fort Duncan in nearby Eagle Pass were in Piedras Negras on a shopping trip and arrived at the restaurant after it had already closed for the day. The maître d’hôtel, Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya, invented a new snack for them with what little he had available in the kitchen: tortillas and cheese. Anaya cut the tortillas into triangles, fried them, added shredded cheddar cheese, quickly heated them, added sliced pickled jalapeño peppers, and served them. Continue reading

For the first time in brand history, Twin Peaks’ annual Miss Twin Peaks contest is going virtual, and the ultimate sports lodge is giving fans the power to crown this year’s winner.
For the Miss Twin Peaks competition, each Twin Peaks location has the opportunity to have one Twin Peaks Girl represent and compete for the title and a $5,000 prize. Previously, this competition has been held in cities across the country with a panel of judges who determine the winner. However, due to the pandemic, Twin Peaks’ live Miss Twin Peaks summer contest was canceled.

One of Dallas’ most unique sports bar offerings is Twin Peaks, where the beers are cold, the food is filling and the ladies are pretty. Not to mention, the customer service is top-notch. Twin Peaks held its annual Miss Twin Peaks Contest at Mango’s Tropical Café in Orlando where Caitlynn Forbes from Addison, Texas was crowned the 2019 winner.
For the national contest, 83 girls traveled to Orlando and were there for a few jam-packed days at the Omni Championsgate Hotel followed by contest day at Mango’s Tropical Café off Orlando’s iconic International Drive. Upon arrival, they participated in photo shoots to add to their personal modeling portfolios and to be featured in Twin Peaks ad placements in the coming year. The Twin Peaks Girls also partook in team building activities, enhancing “The Sisterhood of the Plaid,” encouraging them to build lasting relationships with one another. Continue reading

Things are heating up this summer for Twin Peaks’ annual national bikini contest.
On Tuesday, June 26, 82 Twin Peaks Girls from across the country will walk the runway at The Bomb Factory in Dallas to compete for the title of Miss Twin Peaks 2018.
An expert panel of celebrities, athletes and industry professionals will judge the contest and choose who will take home the crown. The contestants have impressive prizes at stake with over $25,000 up for grabs. Continue reading
