Spring Brings New Nightlife

Rio Room back with more glam than ever

It’s Spring again and with that comes some new nightlife venues for you check out. Seems we are starting to get a more diverse selection of new places to check out which is great for the scene in Dallas which has been in a monkey see monkey do mode for a while.

Social 121 – Formally Loft 610 in Plano this time the new direction will try to bring a little uptown vibe north of 635. The nightclub side will be open this weekend with DJ Soul JAH playing dance music as they shy away from the hip hop and R&B vibe that Loft 610 was getting into. The restaurant will open next weekend with Chef Jason Skinner taking over the kitchen

The Trophy Room – Another Austin based venue has placed an outpost in Dallas on McKinney Ave. What make this unique is that this is a country themed bar with a mechanical bull, very unique idea for uptown. Decorated with taxidermy and camo colored walls it will be interesting as to who you may see as regulars here. Plans are to have live music and DJ’s on a regular basis playing country, rock and everything in between.

The Rio Room – An icon to Dallas nightlife in the early 90’s it has been reborn from what was formally Suite to make yet another hot spot for the Dallas elite. With an enormous sound system and light show this a place to be seen once again. And something that needs to be seen, With many famous DJ’s having already played since it’s Super Bowl opening it just seems to be getting better with more events coming this summer.
