The weather was perfect on Saturday for the Bacon and Beer Classic at the Foundry.
Now in it’s fourth year, the event takes place at several cites all over the United States and London, and features 36+ mostly local craft beers, a Moscow mule booth, unlimited bacon strips, and gourmet bacon infused dishes. Guests enjoyed a range of activities such as live music, a bacon eating contest, giant jenga, cornhole, and bacon bobbin.
Attendees were each given a ceramic 3oz tasting glass molded in the shape of a red solo cup, and lined up to sample two of each brewery’s selections. The variety of pork dishes included bacon mac n cheese, bacon French fries, bacon twists, pork belly, bacon chorizo meatballs, caramel bacon popcorn, bleu cheese bacon biscuits, bacon mashes potatoes, assorted bacon twists, and carnitas tacos with bacon jam.
Some folks gobbled up the goodies right there on the spot, while others went from booth to booth, filling up platters and taking them to picnic areas to dine.
