Trinity Groves is a treasure trove of good food, from top-notch Italian to modern Chinese. Soon, the West Dallas dining destination will expand with Milagro, a new taco-focused restaurant from Jesus Carmona, the chef behind the beloved Tacos Mariachi, that is slated to open this month.
Tacos Mariachi opened in 2015 on Singleton Boulevard, just down the street from Trinity Groves, and it quickly drew a loyal crowd of diners—it even drew in Guy Fieri, who featured the show on “Diners, Drive-In and Dives.” Unfortunately, Carmona had to close his restaurant in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, Carmona focused his attention on his Argentinian bistro in the Bishop Arts District, Chimichurri. Shortly after opening, Carmona was contacted by the Trinity Groves group to relocate the original Tacos Mariachi two blocks down to the new retail space located in Phase Two of the new apartment buildings.
Milagro, which means “miracle” and speaks to Carmona’s changing fortunes, will occupy 2,300 square feet, including an outdoor patio. The space is filled with bright colors and décor to make diners feel like they just stepped into a local taqueria in Mexico.

The menu is focused on Tijuana Street Tacos, with some carryover from Mariachi, but plenty of new options as well. Dishes include Mahi Mahi Birria Tacos, Pork Belly Al Pipil Tacos and the Campeona Burger, with a brioche bun, avocado mousse, sautéed shrimp, asado cheese, crumbled chicharron and a jalapeno glaze, served with housemade fries. There will also be three different types of Sinaloa-style Ceviche and Veggie Bowls, with carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, elote and cilantro pesto.
Dallas cocktail wizard James Slater created an exciting cocktail menu to complement the food, with plenty of tequila, mezcal and fresh-squeezed juices. Ice-cold Mexican beers are also available, including 32-ounce Caguamas. And fans of the famous Cucumber Lemonade will be happy to know that the refreshing drink will be making an appearance on the menu at Milagro.
“I’m so excited for this opportunity to open Milagro and once again serve my food in Dallas,” says Carmona. “I’m so passionate about Tijuana’s rich culture and cuisine, and I can’t wait to share tacos, ceviche and plenty of good conversations in the new restaurant. When the owners of Trinity Groves offered me this space, I knew this was a perfect time to get back into the taco game. I can’t wait to unveil Milagro and show everyone what we’ve been working on.”
Milagro is slated to open this month. It’s located at 440 Singleton Blvd, Suite 100 and will operate Tuesday through Sunday.
