Best Buffet Selections in Dallas

We have been asked to write a list of the best buffets in Dallas and initially that seems like a dreadful task, but once we pulled off the ugly layers of the buffet onion we were shocked at how many lovely experiences could be found. The very best way to run a buffet situation is to keep it fresh, clean and with an unusual variety to keep guest’s interest. In the case of the Indian food buffet, it makes for an excellent canvass to bring newcomers to the cuisine with the ability to instantly sample a variety of dishes and spark an interest that may not have formerly been there.

Truluck’s Stone Crab Takedown

I recently wrote about the marvel that is the stone crab and all of its glory, such as heavy sustainability, deliciously sweet and dense claw meat, and it’s short fishing season which ends May 15th.

I also wrote about the hot deal that Truluck’s has on their stone crab each Monday where the claws are $79 for as many as you care to enjoy. In full disclosure I have been to truluck’s many times but never participated in the crab feast. It sounded exactly like something that would thrill me. I checked into Truluck’s last evening and guess what? It thrilled me.  Continue reading

Riscky’s Rib Challenge July 25th

In honor of the National Day of the American Cowboy, Riscky’s Barbeque is hosting the 9th annual rib eating contest at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, to coincide with events hosted by the Fort Worth Stockyards and Stockyards Station.

Riscky’s Barbeque, a Fort Worth BBQ legend since 1927, along with Stockyards Station, has challenged 20 barbecue enthusiasts to eat as many Riscky’s beef ribs as possible in 20 minutes. The top two qualifiers will then go head-to-head for the $500 grand prize.  Continue reading
