Chefs for Farmers is the Quintessential Cheffy Event in North Texas

What a long strange trip its been.  Not many years ago Iris Midler and Matt McCallister started their five-star festival that is centered on the the Dallas dining scene with a long table event held out in a field of a local farm just outside the Dallas city limits. An event they called Chefs for Farmers. From there this grew into a festival of fun of fantastic proportions that will culminate this October 25th at Lee Park where 2,500 revelers will enjoy a plethora of chef stations paired with fine wines and spirits. We hear that this year there will even be a special biscuit station as well as an oyster lounge.  All this to benefit our local farming community. Continue reading

Watch For Our Reports From Tales Of The Cocktail

talesby Steven Doyle

It’s that time of year again. You know, when all our favorite bartenders (well, almost all of them) jaunt off to New Orleans for the annual convention at the Tales of the Cocktail. Not to be left out, we sent a few reporters to New Orleans to not only sip some fantastic cocktails, but to ferret out the new trends in boozery, sample some of the local cuisine and flavor and otherwise attempt to check in daily with some photos and a report.

Let’s see how our contacts do at the Tales. We hope to hear from them real soon. Right, guys?

Somehow I think this might be like chasing down Hunter S. Thompson reporting on the Super Bowl.
