Cobra Brewing Co. Opening Dec 21; Gift Ideas For Your Beer Buddy

On Saturday, December 21, a new brewery will be celebrating their grand opening tour. Cobra Brewing Company will be opening in Lewisville and is offering a total of six beers according to their Facebook page. These beer are: Hoppy Daze, a year round offered IPA, Blonde Bomber I, a blonde ale made with Cascade hops that impart a citrus flavor with grapefruit notes, and Blonde Bomber II, a blonde ale made with Tettnanger hops which impart a lighter hop presence.

The other three beers offered are seasonal and will only be available until the kegs run dry. These beers are: Drunkin Pumpkin, a pumpkin ale, Nitemare Before Xmas, a pumpkin stout, and Jack Froth, a winter ale.  There a limited amount of tickets available for the grand opening so be sure to get your tickets soon. Hours are 12-5 with live music from 1-4. Tickets are ten dollars for the glass, tour and three samples.    Continue reading

Deep Ellum Brewing Releases Four Swords

Last night the boys from Deep Ellum Brewing Company were out in full force at Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House to celebrate the release of their latest and insanely good beer, Four Swords. Four Swords is not a beer for the faint of heart or weak of knees. This Belgian quadruple has a bold flavor of dark fruits, figs and toffee. The mouth feel is gentle and creamy, although it clocks in at a powerful 9.5% ABV.

We scurried up to Goodfriend last night for a taste and meet up with brewmaster, Jeremy Hunt who was happy with his latest brew. We are as well. We asked what his inspiration was behind Four Swords.   Continue reading

Community Beer Now Available In 750ml Bottles

Earlier in the week Community Beer Company announced the release of their first two bottled beers at Del Frisco Grille. Both are hand bottled in the 750ml. We enjoyed both the heady Inspiration Ale and the Trinity Tripel which are award winning  Belgian-style beers.

“It has been an exciting 8 months of keg-only offerings since our opening in January 2013,” said Kevin Carr, founder of Community Beer Company. “And in that time, we’ve released a total of 9 beers, won 6 awards, and had a lot of fun being a part of the craft beer movement in North Texas. We are excited to release two of our Belgian-style beers for the first time in bottle format. By bottle-conditioning Inspiration and Trinity Tripel, we are able to bring out the complexities of these incredible beers otherwise not possible in keg format.”   Continue reading
