If you can’t decide between going to a museum or taking in a Cowboy’s game, fear not — you can do both. There are two tours of the Stadium’s art collection that includes 21 large-scale, site-specific works of art in all, by such artists as Olafur Eliasson, Teresita Fernandez, Doug Aitken, Annette Lawrence, Lawrence Weiner, and Franz Ackermann (pictured above).
The program launched in 2010 with 14 commissioned artworks, installed in prominent locations throughout the stadium. The Dallas Cowboys Art Program was conceived, launched, and funded by Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones and his wife, Gene. Their daughter, Charlotte Anderson, and niece, Melissa Meeks, have also played prominent roles in the project. Continue reading →

We would love to point out that not one, but six of Dallas’ players will be playing in the Pro Bowl. The Cowboys are sending quarterback Tony Romo and leading NFL rusher DeMarco Murray, as well as wide receiver Dez Bryant; center Travis Frederick; rookie guard Zack Martin; and tackle Tyron Smith. At an event emceed by Dallas Cowboys DeMarcus Ware and Jason Hatcher alongside former players Preston Pearson, Chad Hennings and Daryl Johnston, guests got the chance to bid in a live auction for such things as wine country luxury getaways, chefs tasting meals for 10 at Abacus, lunch with “Christopher Ewing” (Jesse Metcalfe) and a pit pass and suite at three races at North Texas Motor Speedway. Supplementing the live auction was a silent auction with dozens of lots including Cowboys memorabilia, meals at local restaurants, wines and spirits. Continue reading →
