White Rhino Coffee & Emporium Pies Share the Love with Valentine’s Day Specials

Following White Rhino Coffee’s recent acquisition of Emporium Pies, the two Dallas-founded brands are teaming up to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a lineup of limited-time offerings. While each brand continues to operate independently, both are rolling out seasonal specials that reflect a shared focus on craftsmanship, hospitality, and community.

From Thursday, February 12 through Sunday, February 15, Emporium Pies will feature three Valentine’s Day–exclusive items designed for gifting, sharing, or indulging solo:

White Rhino Coffee Purchases Emporium Pies

White Rhino Coffee, a Dallas-born specialty coffee company known for community-focused cafés, has purchased Emporium Pies, one of North Texas’ most beloved dessert destinations.

The acquisition brings together two majority women-owned, local brands built on craft, quality, and community. Former owners and sisters Landon Perdue, Jen Abohosh, and Addie Roberts say the transition reflects a natural alignment in values.

Bishop Arts Walking Tour This Weekend

With so much history behind it—from Bonnie and Clyde to its one-time status as Dallas’ busiest trolley line—the Bishop Arts District is been begging to be explored. So the folks behind Dallas Bites! and Dallas by Chocolate decided it was a natural for those who might wish to eat their way around the neighborhood, and learn about its past. The first Bishop Arts Walking Food & Historical Tour was held on the gorgeous afternoon of September 30, and it did not disappoint. Tour guide Jeanine Stevens led 16 hungry guests down alleys and over cobblestones to discover the area’s hidden treasures, both gastronomical and cultural.

First stop: Veracruz Café, which describes its menu as Mesoamerican, Mayan, Huateco and Aztec cuisine. Guests sampled such unusual appetizers as picaditas, a pizza-like arrangement topped with black beans, tomato sauce and fried cheese, and a salsa that featured guajillo chili peppers grilled with cilantro.
