A Peek Down The Grill On The Alley

by Steven Doyle

How The Grill on the Alley escaped us in the past is beyond our comprehension. The restaurant located just outside the Dallas Galleria has quietly been serving up some classic dishes, along with some of the best steaks and seafood that can be found in Dallas for the past 9 years.

The restaurant, which originally hails from Beverly Hills, is a throw- back to more refined times when big dishes were served with expert care.       Continue reading

The Pho House Opens Tomorrow

pho1by Steven Doyle

There is a new pho option for those so inclined to slurp the Vietnamese soup. The Pho House opens for business in the Village on the Green at 5301 Alpha on Friday the 13th, very near the Galleria in the old Go Fish space across from Maximo’s.

The Pho House promises a seasonal menu with specialty dishes from three regions of Vietnam including Ha Noi, Hue and Saigon. Look for plenty of starters such as steamed dumplings and coconut steamed mussels, plus the customary salads, banh mi, and pho.

Our scout talks about a five spice rib that is a must try dish, plus many homemade desserts.  www.phohousedallasgalleria.com

Our bartenders compete nationally in competitions, and win. They are asked to host symposiums throughout the country, and revered as tops in their field. We are fortunate that way.   Continue reading

Newton Hosts Wine Dinner At Townhouse Kitchen + Bar

by Judy Chamberlain

I like the restaurant’s location, on the Westin Hotel side of the Galleria, conveniently right off the parkway and not a long walk from major parking options.

That it’s just steps away from some of my favorite stores is a nice plus.            Continue reading
