Garden Restaurant in Garland for a Delicious Take on Dim Sum

Dallas has a reliable roster of dim sum houses, but every so often a new find shakes up the familiar landscape. Garden Restaurant in Garland is exactly that sort of discovery—quietly operating under the radar despite offering one of the most satisfying dim sum experiences in the region. The restaurant occupies the former Arc-en-Ciel building, a name that once stood at the top of Dallas-area dim sum rankings, and Garden carries forward the spirit of that legacy with a menu that weaves together Chinese and Vietnamese cooking.

Garden Restaurant in Garland Offers A Fantastic Dim Sum

DSC08151by Steven Doyle

You are most likely familiar with a handful of wonderful spots in Dallas to eek out decent dim sum.  We recently stumbled upon an additional find that until now has gone under our massive radar, and this restaurant is a wonderful find. You will want to make plans to visit Garden Restaurant located in Garland.

If you were familiar with Arc-en-Ceil, one of the best dim sum restaurants that existed in Dallas (and Arlington), this is the same building in Garland. At Garden you will find a whole host of delicious Asian cuisine that varies from both Chinese and Vietnamese. The dim sum menu is good all day and night, but cart service flows only during luncheon hours. All other times you order off the menu and get the items you choose freshly made from the kitchen. This can actually be a good thing as the dim sum list is vast and always fresh.    Continue reading

Meshack’s Bar-Be-Que is Smokin’

meshack1by Steven Doyle

Meshack’s Bar-Be-Que Shack is simply that. A shack in an industrial encampment of Garland that if anyone had placed the location in a business plan it would have been summarily rejected immediately. However, this long standing BBQ restaurant has succeeded without interior dining, long waits during peak hours, and otherwise some pretty delicious BBQ. That smell is not only pecan wood, it is the smell of success for owner Travis Mayes. Continue reading
