Andrew Bell Named Chef at Dish Preston Hollow Opening Feb 24th

Tim McEneny, of NL Group (DISH Cedar Springs, Front Room Tavern, Dakota’s) announces DISH Preston Hollow – located at 8611 Hillcrest Avenue (northwest corner of Hillcrest and Northwest Highway) – will open to the public for lunch and dinner service (weekend brunch begins opening weekend as well) on Tuesday, February 24th with chef Andrew Bell as executive chef.

This neighborhood destination is a sharp, sophisticated and inviting restaurant with a focus on fresh, simple, well-executed seasonal American comfort food in a vibrant space. Chef Bell will add several unique dishes to the Preston Hollow location while executing the signature dishes of the original menu from Cedar Springs. Bell says, “My goal is to keep it consistent with great quality food and service;, I want the neighborhood to know what to expect and keep coming back. Garreth (Cedar Springs executive chef) and I share similar philosophies of using fresh, simple ingredients to make great tasting, straight-forward rustic yet refined dishes.”   Continue reading

Brunch is a high priority in Dallas and with so many options for the mid-day weekend activity it is important you make the right selection of restaurant, and more so, the right dish. That is why we set our sites on Dish this weekend. Chef Garreth Dickey has quietly been plating some special brunch items, and he couldn’t possibly think we wouldn’t take notice.

Dish might be more famously known for its drag brunch. We are trying to keep you in tune with the various wine dinners around Dallas and Fort Worth. These are always special ways for guests to tune in to the chef’s special talents beyond the regular menu, and a fantastic way to be exposed to special wines and winemakers worth celebrating.

DISH Restaurant & Lounge, with Executive Chef Garreth Dickey, will begin a series of wine dinners to take place on the last Wednesday of each month for the rest of the year. The first dinner taking place on Wednesday, March 27th, will be a celebration of eclectic finds hosted by Travis James of Favorite Brands. Dish On Chef Garreth Dickey At Dish

A recent visit to Dish on Cedar Springs reminded me that Garreth Dickey is an amazing chef. I probably didn’t need that affirmation, nor does he, but it is always good to know when things are right in the world.

Chef Dickey developed his palate at an early age as he traveled the globe with his father sampling cuisines from exotic locales including Thailand, Africa and South America. The chef entered the culinary world as everyone in the industry should, as a dishwasher at the age of 16.   Continue reading
