Lakewood Brewing Let’s Get Weird Halloween Bash

Lakewood Brewing Company (LBC) is throwing a huge Halloween party for the community. Everyone is invited to Lakewood’s Taproom & Beer Garden on Saturday, October 20th from Noon to 9:00 p.m. to enjoy a day of beer, food, games and weird entertainment.

Wim Bens, Founder & President of Lakewood Brewing Company says, “Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. Lakewood Releases Thread Spinner + Halloween Party News

Thread Spinner, is Lakewood Brewing’s new Legendary Series release, and the first in a mini series of three wood-aged beers based on the Greek myth of the Three Fates, is out now.

This 13.5% American barleywine was aged in Witherspoon Distillery bourbon barrels for months, lending notes of toffee, vanilla, and oak to the malty, robust beer. Pick up a couple bottles – one to enjoy now and one to cellar. Then be sure to pick up her two sisters next year for a unique vertical.   Continue reading

Happiness Is Not A Nori Lollipop

How would you like Halloween without candy? In this clever commercial from Crest, the test children were not amused and made their opinions well known. According to the kids the healthy cupcakes tasted like “poopy pinata”, and the nori lollipops, which were touted to get their colons going in the morning, were “disgusting”.  Continue reading

Burning Question: What is Worse Than Candy Corn?

A friend of ours, Aaron Hirsch-Perry, who just rolled his his new sauce line Bostonian BBQ is a pretty clever guy. And for a rather svelte gentleman he enjoys dining with a passion. His daily Facebook posts are rifled with incredible food shots, many cooked by himself, and others where he finds great dining around the country. Needless to say  when Aaron is in or around Dallas we attempt to ply him with a bit of our local cuisine such as the chicken fried lobster from YO Ranch Steakhouse. Fiesta de la Vida with Stephan Pyles and Lakewood Brewing at Stampede 66

This Halloween, put the kids to bed, grab your broomstick, and celebrate All Hallows’ Eve with Stampede 66 and Lakewood Brewing Co. at Fiesta de la Vida. As the official kickoff event for North Texas Beer Week, Fiesta de la Vida begins the 10-day local celebration of craft beer.

Admission includes a souvenir glass as well as five beer and food pairings with special, limited release beers. At midnight there will be a cask tapping of Lakewood Brewing Co.’s popular, seasonal Temptress Mole. Stampede 66’s modern ranch house in the heart of Uptown will be transformed into a neighborhood for trick or treating with a twist. Each pairing will be located at a different “house” in the neighborhood along with a dessert room with unlimited candy.   Continue reading
