Ready For Round Three Of Kitchen LTO At Trinity Groves?

Kitchen LTO is coming up on its third round of chef incarnations for the Trinity Groves restaurants. Remember the concept is to attract and install a new chef every 4 months. Chefs are whitteled down by committee, and then voted on by the public. You are able to meet and taste offerings from the finalists on Sunday, May 4th, then encouraged to go online to vote for your favorite.

The first round chef was won by Norman Grimm, followed by Eric Shelton. The chefs chosen attract quite a bit of attention from the media, not just locally, but across the country. It is an excellent means of promotion for an up-and-coming chef, or a seasoned chef that needs a boost of publicity to jump start their career in a new direction. The New LTO Chef Eric Shelton Shakes Up Trinity Groves

Kitchen LTO is now in full swing motion and in its second incarnation. You recall the restaurant in Trinity Groves that reinvents itself every four months, and the public chooses the chef. That chef brings along different flavors and a menu that is uniquely theirs and runs the restaurants as their own for a quarter of a year. The latest chef is Eric Shelton who most recently was the executive chef for the M Dining at the State Fair Music Hall. We have chatted with Shelton many times in the past and you can find some of our conversation here , but the chef comes to Dallas with a wonderful CV and an excellent culinary education.

You may also recall Shelton recently from the Food Network’s Cut Throat Kitchen episode where he cooked from a tackle box that was bestowed upon him. We love an inventive chef.   Continue reading →

Vote For The Next Kitchen LTO Chef Now

Kitchen LTO is the most unique of all restaurants in Trinity Groves. Unique in the fact that both the kitchen and design is retooled every four month with the installation of a new executive chef and their menu. Owned by Casie Caldwell, who also owns all the Greenz restaurants in the DFW area, LTO is looking for their next chef to start in February. This past weekend Caldwell hosted a soiree where all the potential chefs fr the next round were revealed and competed to a capacity crowd for votes.  On hand also were the potential designers who ere more than eager to discuss their plans for this project and their future in the design world.

Meet And Greet The Next Kitchen LTO Chef

Kitchen LTO at Trinity Groves will host MEET. TASTE. REVIEW. VOTE on Sunday, January 5th, 2014, to debut its chef and designer finalists for its second permanent pop-up restaurant rotation.

The event, to be held at Kitchen LTO, will allow partygoers the opportunity to meet the finalists, taste-test the chefs, explore proposed interior designs and be the first to vote for their favorites.  Voting will commence at the event and continue through 6pm January 12th via Kitchen LTO’s website.  Voting will be limited to one time per 24 hours, with winners announced Tuesday, January 14th.  The current chef will end his tenure on Saturday, February 1st.  The restaurant will close for two days and re-open later the week of February 3rd as the second round concept.

Tickets are limited and are currently on sale for $50 here.  Proceeds will benefit El Centro’s Culinary Facilities.   Continue reading →

Kitchen LTO Looking For Next Round Of Chefs

Kitchen LTO, a Trinity Groves incubator restaurant, is now accepting chef and designer/artist applications for its second-round “permanent popup” restaurant.

Concepted by Casie Caldwell (founder and owner of Greenz Salads — a Dallas based fast-casual eatery), Kitchen LTO opened with its first-round chef Norman Grimm and design team Coeval Studio, in September.  This innovative restaurant will dramatically change every four months as a new chef rotates in and introduces a new menu concept.  Simultaneously, a new design team or artist re-designs the interior’s transformable elements.

Applications must be received by November 18th, in order to be considered for the second round of operation.  A screening committee will review the applications.  Finalists will then be introduced to the public, at a party tentatively scheduled for December 15th.  Voting, through the website, begins at the party and will end on January 3rd.  Votes will be tallied and the winners will be announced on January 6th.  February 4th, 2014 is the planned debut for Kitchen LTO – Round Two.    Continue reading →

Kitchen LTO Opens September 11

Located in the new Trinity Groves project of West Dallas, Kitchen LTO will open for dinner service on Wednesday, September 11th with lunch beginning Monday, September 30th.

Casie Caldwell, Kitchen LTO creator, has developed a restaurant business model unlike any in the country.  The restaurant will dramatically change every four months as a new chef rotates in and introduces a new menu concept.  Simultaneously, a new design firm will reinvent the interior’s transformable elements.  Essentially, it’s a limited time only (“LTO”), where a new restaurant is born three times a year.  Applicants enter an extensive review process with the selection committee – made up of local restaurant industry experts – choosing the finalists.  At that point, the finalists are presented to the public for a vote.   Continue reading →
