Terilli’s Has Been on Lower Greenville Since 1985

Jeannie Terilli opened her restaurant on Lower Greenville in 1985 after flipping a coin. Heads meant opening a restaurant. Tails meant continuing to dig 5-gallon holes in Texas summer heat running her landscape company. It came up heads. Forty-one years later, Terilli’s is still at 2815 Greenville Avenue, still running live music six nights a week, still pouring martinis with hand-stuffed blue cheese olives, and still serving dishes named after members of the family who built the place.

Her son Joey and her daughter Amanda Ahern now help run the room, and a second location — Terilli’s To Go, in the former Val’s Cheesecake space just down Greenville — bringing weekday lunch service back to the neighborhood for the first time since the pandemic. That last detail is the one that tells you what kind of restaurant this is.

Walkers Opens on Lower Greenville June 19

Siblings Rosemary Walker-Greene and Russell Walker are opening Walkers’ at 3016 Greenville Avenue on June 19, and the concept is worth paying attention to before the neighborhood discovers it for itself.

Rosemary is an Advanced Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers — a credential that requires years of structured study and a pass rate that hovers around 30 percent — and she spent time at The NoMad in New York, the Rustic Canyon family of restaurants in Los Angeles, and Carbone in Dallas. Russell built a wood flooring company serving the luxury design and architecture industry before deciding a restaurant made more sense. Together they have put together a dual-concept space: a market and sandwich counter that runs from 11 a.m. and a proper dinner restaurant that opens at 5 p.m. The same room does both, and the transition from one to the other is part of the idea.

Two New Mexican Spots Are Coming to Lower Greenville This Summer

Lower Greenville is getting two new Mexican concepts this summer, and they’re coming from the same person: Jon Garay, the SMU grad and Mexico City native who co-founded Chilangos Tacos back in 2019 and has been quietly building one of the more recognizable taco brands in Dallas ever since. Chilangos now has six locations across the city, plus Nashville and Las Vegas. This time, Garay is going a different direction — and doing it on his own terms.

Rye to Close on Lower Greenville as Apothecary Expands Its Footprint

Rye, the chef-driven American restaurant on Lower Greenville Avenue, will close later this spring, bringing an end to its current chapter in Dallas dining. The restaurant’s final service is scheduled for March 7, 2026, after which its adjoining cocktail bar, Apothecary, will expand to occupy the entire space.

The decision reflects a planned shift by the restaurant group to separate the two concepts more clearly. Rye and Apothecary currently share kitchen operations and infrastructure, a setup that has limited each concept’s ability to evolve independently. By closing the restaurant and enlarging the bar, the team aims to give Apothecary dedicated room to grow and refine its identity.

Terilli’s: A Taste of Italy in the Heart of Dallas

Italchos

Found in a timeless location on Lower Greenville neighborhood, Terilli’s has been charming Dallas diners with its unique blend of upscale Italian cuisine, live music, and rooftop ambiance since opening its doors in 1985. Founded by the spirited and visionary Jeannie Terilli, the restaurant is steeped in both personal heritage and a fierce commitment to quality, creativity, and community.

Jeannie’s Italian roots inspired the concept—a warm, welcoming place where food, wine, and music come together. What began as a small, cozy trattoria has grown into a Dallas institution, thanks in part to Terilli’s ability to evolve with time while never straying from its authentic charm. Her daughter, Amanda Ahern, now plays a leading role in running the restaurant, preserving its legacy with style and grace.
