Jake and Dorothy’s is a Blast of Cowboy Past

Stephenville was founded in 1854 and is known as the Cowboy Capital of the World and in the one-hundred Best Small Towns in America list as well as Dairy Capital of Texas. With that combination, there is sure to be some good eating in Stephenville.

The town was incorporated in 1889 with the advent of Ft. Worth, Texas and Rio Grande Railway. From there Stephenville exploded with growth and buildings along with John Tarleton Ag. College, now known as Tarleton State University. Stephenville boasts more cowboys per capita than any other city in the country.

Mod Motels Teams with Legendary James Beard Award-Winning Chef Stephan Pyles for The Seeker at Interstate Inn

Mod Motels, the debut lodging company from veteran Texas entrepreneurs Lisa Lennox and Kirk and Cathy Bonner announced today they have entered into a Licensing Agreement with Chef Stephan Pyles to concept The Seeker, the restaurant which will be located within its debut luxury motel, Interstate Inn, in Stephenville which is scheduled to open in Summer 2024.   After many years of meticulous planning and strategy, Mod Motels is already in the process of transforming its first acquisition, Stephenville’s historic Caravan Inn, into a fully reimagined boutique, luxury, mid-century modern, 33-room motel now with the addition of a full-service restaurant collaboration—The Seeker.
