Truluck’s is excited to announce that the season for Truluck’s Florida Stone Crab will begin on October 15, 2022 and run through May 2023. Truluck’s is so committed to fresh Florida Stone Crab, that they work exclusively with their fisheries and dedicated crabbing professionals in South Florida. Each day, the boats go out into the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico, set their traps, and capture the crab. They then cook the crab claws, pack them in ice, and jet-fresh deliver them from Truluck’s traps to your table in hours. Truluck’s will NEVER serve frozen Florida Stone Crab claws.

Stone Crab Season is on at Truluck’s

One of our very favorite restaurants in Dallas is Truluck’s. This is the place known for pretty awesome steaks, but especially their stone crab. For those unfamiliar, stone crab is this beautiful claw which can be quite large, massive actually. Truluck’s Stone Crab Takedown

I recently wrote about the marvel that is the stone crab and all of its glory, such as heavy sustainability, deliciously sweet and dense claw meat, and it’s short fishing season which ends May 15th.

I also wrote about the hot deal that Truluck’s has on their stone crab each Monday where the claws are $79 for as many as you care to enjoy. In full disclosure I have been to truluck’s many times but never participated in the crab feast. It sounded exactly like something that would thrill me. The Unlimited Stone Crab Feast At Trulucks Worth It’s Weight In Crab

Crab season, specifically stone crab season, is like Christmas around the Crave Offices. Stone Crab is food of the gods. And the best catch is at Truluck’s. This is what they do well.

The Stone Crab is extremely sustainable, and the fisherman only take one claw which is detachable. The crab quickly grows a new one. Those claws pack a mean punch too, able to crush up to 19,000 pounds per square inch.  Stone Crab are prolific too, laying up to a million eggs at a time. Continue reading
