More Chefs On The Move In Dallas
More chef news straight from the kitchen, this time from Front Burner’s corporate chef John Franke who sends us a note that T.J. Lengnick has moved on from Whiskey Cake to take a position at Stephan Pyles. In Chef Lengnick’s place Franke has hired Scott Townend from the Park Cities latest restaurant at the Lumen Hotel’s The Front Room. Continue reading

Luau At Whiskey Cake
Last night the Tiki gods shined upon Plano, Texas as Whiskey Cake prepared not one, but three whole hogs to a sell-out crowd on a Monday evening in celebration of all things luau. In preparation over 70 coconuts lost their tops, making these the perfect vessels for cooling tropical cocktails prepared by lead barman Sean Conner.
Conner wrangled Barcardi’s 151 into drinks such as classic Zombies that made the gathering revelers not only smile, but put them in the island mood. Continue reading

Mele Kalikimaka In August At Whiskey Cake
Whiskey Cake is offering one of their special event dinners come this Monday, August 20, 2012. For those that rarely venture north, this is a perfect evening to enjoy the cooler breeze of Plano as he dinner has been scheduled at 8pm.
The dinner will be tiki themed and chef TJ Lengnick plans t go whole hog on us with his new La Caja China that smokes an entire pig faster than it takes to fly to the islands. Continue reading

Iron Fork Event May 8 2012

It is time once again for the annual Iron Fork event presented by the Dallas Observer and hosted by chef Kent Rathbun. The event will feature many area restaurants and offers libations including beer, wine and a special cocktail.
The event is highlighted by a special chef grudge match as Rathbun presents a basket including secret ingredients and judged by a panel of local food experts (including our editor Steven Doyle). TJ Lengnick from Whiskey Cake will go up against reigning champion Scott Romano as he defends his title he won with his special Scotch Egg last year that had the panel swooning. Continue reading
