Whole Foods Victory Beer Dinner This Friday

by Steven Doyle

As the temperature’s rise well beyond that century mark our drink of choice is fast becoming a beer. Victory Brewing Company has a few new items that will guarantee a quick cool down.

In the past year Victory has released the Headwaters Pale Ale which has this dynamic copper color, loaded with citrus hops and extremely sessionable at 5.1% APV. The hops are apparent but do not beat you down and remains extremely drinkable with yeast and fruity notes and a back beat of sweetness.

With each purchase of Headwaters Pale Ale Victory donates a portion of those proceeds to the Guardian of the Brandywine River Valley, the very waters in Pennsylvania where Victory procures their water for the beer. This outreach program aims to educate individuals to take ownership of clean water issues. With help from Victory Brewing Company, The Guardians plan to inspire citizens to start making a difference in their own backyards.

Victory donated $10,000 last year for this project.

We spoke with local Victory representative Stephanie Meyer who said that Summer Love just hit the shelves about a month ago. “Summer Love is a seasonal beer that we did in partnership with the city of Philadelphia which is now their official beer,” said Meyer.

Meyer also said that the brewery is focusing on their core brands as they begin construction of their new 40 acre location very near the current brewery.

This coming Friday Victory will be partnering up with Whole Foods and pouring Summer Love at a special beer pairing dinner. The dinner will feature four courses. You can meet the brand rep at the dinner and throughout the week at Whole Foods on Park Lane.

The beer dinner will be at the Park Lane location Friday, June 29, 2012, and costs only $25. Check their website for seating availability.
