This weekend you will want to check out A Feathered Affair, a special fundraising event that will be held at the Trinity River Audubon Center (TRAC). The event will help upgrade and repair the Outdoor Wildlife Pond in the Children’s Discovery Garden and to support its science and environmental education program that reaches more than 22,000 Dallas pre-K through 12 students annually. The event is scheduled from 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at TRAC, 6500 S. Loop 12 (Great Trinity Forest Blvd.) in Dallas.
The event will feature an all-star lineup of local chefs including Jeff Harris (Bolsa & Bolsa Mercado), Nathan Tate (Boulevardier), Chad Houser (Café Momentum), Graham Dodds (Hibiscus) and Abraham Salum (Komali & Salum). Award-winning wines and signature drinks will be featured. Highlighting a silent auction will be unique birdhouses created by local artists. The auction will be conducted throughout the evening.
Attendees will enjoy music, evening sunset walks, stargazing and a moonlit campfire from TRAC’s beautiful grounds. Corporate sponsors include Northern Trust, Whole Foods Market, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management/The Meyer Group, Gensler, Outback Roofing LLC, Bolsa/Bolsa Mercado and Original Cupcakery.
The Gay and Lesbian Fund for Dallas (GLFD), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equality and raising awareness of the personal and financial contributions of gays and lesbians to the City of Dallas, will sponsor “A Feathered Affair” to benefit the Trinity River Audubon Center (TRAC).
