Texas Chefs Association Chili Confrontation Nov 9

The Texas Chefs Association – Dallas Chapter (TCA) will host the Chili Confrontation 2014 on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 11 am to 3 pm.  The Confrontation will take place at Four Corners Brewing Company located at 423 Singleton Blvd., Dallas in Trinity Groves.  Professional and non-professional teams will compete for cash prizes and a People’s Choice Award. There will be entertainment and additional food provided by the TCA and beverage booths.

The Chili Confrontation is being held in conjunction with North Texas Beer Week (NTBW).  NTBW is a 10 day celebration showcasing the people, places, and brews that make up the region’s booming craft beer scene with events overseen by local business owners and enthusiasts who seek to support the growth of craft beer across North Texas.

Admission is free and open to the public. Sampling of the competitor’s chili will be available to the public for $20, which includes 6 chili tastings and one People’s Choice voting ticket. Four Corners Brewing Company will have $4 pints of craft beer with $1.00 per pint benefiting the Texas Chefs Association.

“We anticipate that this will be our most successful Confrontation date with teams from across Texas participating.” says Chef Sharon Van Meter, event co-chair and Director of the Texas Chefs Association – Dallas Chapter.  “Professional chefs, chili masters and great home cooks competing against each other makes the competition diverse while making the winner anyone’s guess!”

The Texas Chefs Association has supported the Trinity River Foundation, North Texas Food Bank, National Restaurant Association ProStart Program, Union Gospel Mission, Mercy Chefs, Chefs Move to School, Texas Chefs Association Education Foundation and many more local and national organizations through charitable contributions and thousands of man hours volunteered.

The mission of the Texas Chefs Association is to promote the culinary profession and make a positive impact for culinarians through education and certification, while creating a fraternal bond of respect and integrity.
