Celebrate World Smile Day at Corner Bakery

Soon, guests will have more than craveable food to smile about at Corner Bakery Cafe. In celebration of World Smile Day, Friday, October 3, Corner Bakery Cafe will give the first 50 guests in line at participating locations free smiley face mugs, with discounted coffee refills for a year.

To further spread the joy, Corner Bakery Cafe will give guests a set of two mugs – one for themselves and another to share a smile with someone else. Guests who receive the mugs and their lucky recipients will be treated to 25-cent hand-roasted coffee refills for a year when they present the mugs on future visits to Corner Bakery Cafe. The mugs are bright yellow and feature the classic smiley face image.

“While we share smiles with our guests every day, it’s fun to participate in the one day a year dedicated to spreading joy and happiness,” said Diana Hovey, Chief Marketing Officer. “We hope these mugs will continue to make our guests smile all year long.”

Guests are encouraged to join the World Smile Day conversation on social media by posting a picture with their mugs and #SmileAtTheCorner.

The origin of World Smile Day traces back to 1963 when commercial artist Harvey Ball created the smiley face, one of the most iconic symbols of happiness and goodwill. Ball thought everyone should devote one day each year to smiles and kind acts, and in 1999, declared the first Friday in October World Smile Day.
