A Texas summer is upon us, which means it’s time for summer specials at our favorite restaurants. This summer, a beloved fast-casual Italian restaurant is offering a very tough to beat deal.
With three locations in the DFW metroplex, Sauce Pizza & Wine is returning with a Summer Sampler special, in which parties of two can get one pizza, a salad to share and two glasses of wine for the low price of $22.
Sauce offers a unique variety of pizzas, including The Pig, a pizza topped with applewood smoked bacon, Italian sausage, pepperoni, smoked ham and soppressata. Sweeter pies include the Prosciutto & Fig a white pizza with black mission figs, goat cheese and arugula. For a light option, try the Chicken Pesto, a white pizza with pesto chicken, fresh mozzarella and marinated tomatoes.
In addition to the Summer Sampler special, Sauce is introducing the seasonal Watermelon & Arugula Salad, a summer salad utilizing including watermelon, feta cheese and jicama batons in a blend of arugula and spinach, tossed in white balsamic vinaigrette.
Although not included as part of the Summer Sampler, guests should not leave without trying one of Sauce’s indulgent desserts, specifically, the Pizza Cookie. Served in a piping hot skillet, the Pizza Cookie is a half-baked triple chocolate chip cookie topped with a scoop of gelato.

Pizza is my favorite thing to cook with the kids. It is one food that their “help” can actually be help. You can’t really screw up putting toppings on, and they love to customize their own little pizzas.
